Tried to get club rego...but was rejected,

Which club Brock? I am yet to go through all this with mine. You might be able to save me a bit of time.

In Queensland you don't need to be in a club as such, all you need to do is join the ASRF for $55 a year  , they will give you a letterhead stating your car complies for club rego and you are good to go. my rego dropped from  over $1100 to less than $300 and that includes the ASRF membership.

Not being a dickhead will save you some time, not that you are. Join a sympathetic club, with only a period-modified car and don't demand free registration. Simples.

Not sure what state you are in mate.
But in NSW, I would think you may struggle to get Historic club rego, but should be ok for Classic Rego ( same cost, give or take)

Sure. And this is usually where the fight starts.

If the actual engine number at annual inspection by club scrutineer matches registration and car is 30 years old that is all thst is required

CTCCWA are offering both C4C and 404 here in WA

404 for cars that are completely stock and C4C for vehicles with mods.

The cost for club membership is $55 per year and we offer club rego to both metro and country members.

404 rego works out to be less than $100 per year.

C4C rego is around the $150 mark

TBH with all the hooha about being stock C4C is just easier.

However stamp duty does apply for C4C but not for 404 (only affects new regoes)

If you have one Torana in your "fleet" then we can also sort all your other vehicles. We currently have a motorbike and even a couple of fords on the scheme.

The forms to get on C4C are very easy to complete and DOT here are processing them very quickly. Pretty painless really and can be done via email.

Also would strongly suggest that once you are on C4C to get in touch with your insurance company as most seem to be offering reduced premiums for folks on the club regoes.

We use an app to do the C4C logbook and also offer free restricted use stickers that are compulsory. (only one front or back)

There is strong moves afoot to standardise the usage for both schemes (by DOT) but at this stage they are different.

If you need any more info or wish to join the club then please PM me.

As long as it is street legal and over 30 years old it gets club rego in SA. Thanks largely to the efforts of “Stinky” Glen Stinkervis.

Must be legislated then. Got a reference?
Nevermind, I checked for myself. Essentially, it's up to the club.

Clause 3.1 of the SA Code of Practice for Club Registration is my favourite. BTW, no mention of engine numbers whatsoever.

I’m in two clubs and they both interpret it that way. I have heard of other clubs that don’t bother to inspect. One guy I know has a heavily modified red six in an FB, registered with original 138, on club rego with a certain club. Never inspected. No questions asked.

Wont mention the club, but there's only a couple in WA in any case.

But wording was under 404 its modified.....and that the other club would make a case if they seen it at a show :wtf: .

My argument is triples came as a factory option, just glad the C4C option is now available. Poor things gets driven three times a years if its lucky.

Well then both clubs are to blame. There must be some pedantic pricks in amongst them.

The Collie Motoplex charges 60 bucks for membership which gives you cheap access to "Test and Tune" days at the track, as well as being a DOT approved car club for concessions.

404 is tricky and can be a pain.

There are arguments within clubs as to what makes a car ineligible for 404 let alone between clubs.

Triples is interesting as there were 2 types. If you had the wrong ones you were not eligible for 404. Personally I could not see the difference but if someone in DOT found out we had put through a car incorrectly we would be in strife. 404 must be factory correct. If we put through a car incorrectly we could loose the ability to offer it.

I cannot speak for every member of the CTCC but there is no way I would be "dobbing" in anyone. Not my club, not my business.

Fortunately C4C makes life a whole lot easier!
