Hi, Driving my LX the other day the charge light comes on dull at first then brighter. I got home parked up and thought 'that wont start tomorrow' It didn't.

So please in the simplest terms (I know nothing about electrical) where do I start?

Cheers

Dead battery or dead alternator (alternator not charging the battery)?

Do you have a multimeter to test the voltage levels? Jump start the car to get it running again. Then test voltage across the battery and see what it's doing.

Knackered rectifier in the alternator.

New alternator required.

Or rebuild it if you have the skills.
