Hi all ,the rear shock absorber nut is very tight as you do it up ,by the looks of it it's a UNF thread ,is it supposed to be tight or screw on with ease ? am I missing a washer or something ,thanks Paul.

Wrong nut . Where's the washer ?

Ok so I'm missing a washer and wrong nut.Should I have a washer on both sides?

Yes. There should be a washer on both sides . The inside washer will slide on to a 'step' on the shaft & won't go any further . 

Of course there are variations (early LH ) but any suspension place will sell the washers ( or provided new with shocks ) & any bolt store should have nice new zinc coated Nyloc nuts which are superior to 1974 technology . :)

Nobody should fit nylock nuts to a torana, they look absolutely shithouse, get some cone nuts Paul & yes the last bit of the cone nut will seem tighter. Tap or die every thread twice, before you put something back together, is a big tip.

Yep - brand new cone nuts all the way.
