Question for the Gurus

I am going to update my Hatch to an LS2 Manual and was wondering if the computer is impacted dependant on Manual or Auto. So do I need to buy an LS2 with computer that all came out of a Manual, or does it matter if it was attached to an auto???

Over to you

It's been a while since I played with OEM computers however I *think* the PCMs are the same but the 'tunes' are different. And yes, they are electronic autos so controlled by the PCM.

I wouldn't bother with the OEM stuff myself, there's too much bloat in them and everything expects to be connected to everything else and has a conniption when it isn't.

It's a bit more expensive to go after-market ECU initially but might save you some headaches later on?

Yep.

Computers are the same.

I did read though that going manual it is easier if you choose non electronic auto in the menu.

Apparently then the expected inputs from a manual such as clutch are ignored.

Im in the process of setting up a tuning tool and will be connecting the 2 ECUs I have to it to have a play.

So will know more in the near future hopefully.

Cheers

Rob
