Book by Mel Nichols published 2103.

Got this for Xmas. Consists of mainly Supercars like Maserati, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc. But the first two cars included are all Aussie (albeit with US hears). The HG GTS350 and the XY GT-HO. Probably the only true Aussie Supercars. In the stories he quotes the performance figures, and you can see how much in awe he was of the PhaseIII - you can almost see the grin on his face as he describes it!

HG (December 1970 Wheels test): through the gears: 55, 79, 99 and 130+mph (quoted as bouncing off 133mph). 0-60mph 7s, 0-100mph 16s. 14.8s standing 1/4. He does state the only Australian car that could shade it (just) was the GT-HO. This was a 3.08 rear axle car I believe.

XY GT-HO (October 1971 Wheels test). Through the gears 49, 73, 104 and 141mph all hitting the 6150rpm rev limiter. 0-100mph 15.2s. 0-60mph 6.2s and 14.7s standing quarter are quoted in the Wheels magazine. He states it felt like it wanted to give more as it kept bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th! (No doubt Ford didn't want Cleveland engines spread over highways, but with it disconnected you can imagine the car may have got close to 150mph).
