If you're after a specific cast date, I assume you'd also be looking for a specific engine number prefix?

There is only 4 prefixes at that time ignoring L34, and really only 11QT, QT and HT that are reasonably common. NT will be very rare compared to those other three. August 1974 most will be manual/Trimatic block although they’d have been starting to cast HJ blocks in August to get engines built for HJ volume production You might have more luck finding an August 1984 block today though.

My point was... If you're looking for a specific cast date block but don't care about the number prefix, that would suggest to me that you planned on re-stamping the engine number?

Perhaps the car's original engine number? :<_<:

The number and prefix don’t matter.
it will all be decked off and re created....
