Hi all , is the heater hose from the thermostat and water pump to the heater 5/8?

Yes, most Holdens use 5/8 heater hose.

Unless somebody knows of a hose with the same grain pattern, unfortunately nothing seems to be close to the heater hose at all, for lc/lj. & don't forget that both hoses are different in length.

Rares seem to have the best value hose at about $5 per metre. I just bought a couple of metres for back-up on my sand blaster but wasn't required so it will be used on the LC.  I clean all the white writing off with wax and grease remover then use a rubber conditioner.
