So Shannon's insurance company is trying to stall once again by not sending information to the repair shop.
They need to send an invitation to quote on the car and a list of what they are paying for and haven't done so now for close to 2 weeks.

Im thinking they are just doing this to piss you off mate. Ive had to make 3 claims with Shannons just this year... 1 vehicle claim, 1 contents claim and now another building claim. All have been resolved with Shannons very quickly.

Did the shop confirm to you that they had not received a request to quote?

Yes I spoke with them yesterday before I posted it on here.
They said Shannon's called them to see if they were interested in the job and that's all.
No official email invite to quote on it or anything else.

As I've said before.
I've never had a problem with Shannon's insurance until now.
This has certainly opened my eyes to how they are as a company.

In their latest email to AFCA they have asked me to agree not to go publicly ever again in order to fix my car.
So to get it fixed I have to agree.

Surprise, surprise. Shannons don't like negative comment about their business on Social Media. Perhaps if they learn from this and improve their business practices and handling of complaints then they wouldn't need to coerce clients into agreeing to "SHUT UP OR ELSE" clauses.

I think you'll find that's an illegal request.

Don't have much choice at this stage. But have made a few things very clear to AFCA about this and how I can see they are going to move the bar again.

Well finally Shannon's look like they are going to do the right thing.
Have to take the car down tomorrow morning for a quote on full respray and rectification on dodgy work that was done.

Rook car down yesterday for a quote to be done.
Have received a copy of it to go through and confirm that it is correct to what is to be done.
Basically full strip of car including doors bonnet boot removed and full respray to get it right.

Id be inclined to strip the car down to a bare shell myself. Hand the panel beaters a totally gutted shell.

That's a good result. Glad they're taking everything off and not just slapping more on over the top.

It was part of the case that I submitted to AFCA that the car was to have a full partial strip of all paint from every panel.
All exterior trims lights locks and exterior features.
Full respray of vehicle top to bottom front to back.
The quote was submitted this morning and apparently approved all ready.
I think they realize that I won't go away and it has to be done correctly.
The repairer who is doing the job is just waiting for the final email.

Well the final email has been received by the repair for approval.
Now waiting on a date for ot to go in and get done.
Repairer has said he will have a better idea of time frame and date at the end of this month but will be in the next 6 months sometime.
Still a bit of a wait but hey its coming up to 2 years now in june.
So stick to your guns people and make sure you do your homework and know what you are talking about because they will try and get away with anything they can to save a dollar at your expense.

Had a call this morning from the repairer who will be fixing this mess.
At this stage car will be going in around the middle of July and will be in getting done for a couple of months for full partial strip and complete respray front to back top to bottom.
All I can say is the repairer who is looking after the repair work is very professional way more than any other shop I've seen and also do all the paint work for 782 motors. So I can relax and know it will be a bloody good job.
