Garry I think we are we talking about different things? I think you are talking about the spacer between the calipers that all XU1 have (to accommodate the thicker XU1 rotors) whereas I'm talking about the slip on spacers that fit to all 4 wheels.

Are you sure that it's not 2 per front wheel & 1 per back wheel on early 72's Dave ? I should remember, but i don't atm.
Yes, Mr Grumpy, you are 100% correct. The first cars to use 2 wheel spacers per front wheel & 1 wheel spacer per back wheel were the 1971 LC XU-1,s. ( Amendment 1/1E )
The first 200 ( 1/72 & 2/72 ) January & February 1972 run of LJ XU-1,s also used 2 wheel spacers per front wheel & 1 wheel spacer per back wheel prior to Amendment 3/3V in 1972. The first cars fitted with 3 wheel spacers per front wheel & 1 wheel spacer per back wheel were the 100 ( 3/72 ) March run of LJ XU-1,s. Under the C.A.M.S. rules a manufacturer was required to have 50% or 100 cars of the minimum 200 sold to allow the amendment to proceed.
The first 100 ( 5/72 ) May run of LJ XU-1,s completed amendment 3/3V Wheel Spacers. The second 100 ( 5/72 ) May run of LJ XU-1,s were the 50% required to allow the homologation of the Detroit Locker, Amendment 1/1V. The 100 ( 6/72 ) June run of LJ XU-1,s completed the homologation of the Detroit Locker, Amendment 1/1V, prior to the August/September run of 1972 LJ XU-1,s.
