Hi Guys,

I have an LX hatch project with front rails and inner guards that need replacing. Due to a few shitte repairs and a smash and roll when in it's racing days,  it's just easier to get a donor. I found a UC roller donor in pretty good nick. What I want to know is how much of the UC is interchangeable? Does anyone have an exploded part view of the rails, inner guards comparing the two? Is the chassis, rear and front running gear interchangeable? Is there a list someone has done you could share? Thanks for the help, I haven't done this before.

The diff with won’t fit unless the LX has been modified to A9X spec.
The engine crossmember off a UC is a straight bolt in but if it is an early UC Sunbird shell the engine mounts are no good to you.
Others will have to help with inner guards and front rails but from memory they are pretty close. The passenger area floors, roof, doors, sills, plenum etc you can use for repairs. The boot floor is different. Boot lid is useable too.

UC inner guards are a different shape and won't work with LH/LX guards. Radiator support panel is totally different. Rails I'm not sure. About but assume they would be virtually the same.

As above the diff wont work. Its a small Salisbury compared to the banjo in LH/LX and the upper arm mounts are different.

Are the inner guards the same (or close) other than where the guards bolt on? It wouldn’t be too hard to slice them an inch below the top and stitch the top of the old LH-LX inners on to match the LH-LX guard? You could probably use a guard as a reference as to where to sit the donor pieces in space prior to welding.

Inner guards are different at front to meet radiator support and different around battery tray and drivers front skirt.

This is a pretty long winded question... for example the boot floor and tailshaft tunnel (rear half of console) are different on a UC, but I don't know what matters for what you're doing.

The fellas above me and outlined it fairly well. ALL pillars down to the sills, including the sills, plenum area (apart from some wiring loom loops) are identical as far as I can tell. Seat mounts and footwells look to be te same, dash frame is different but the column support (and therefore pedal mount) is identical, I expect the rear firewall and parcel shelf to be identical.
