Hi guys, I have a new speedo drive with a new a new seal I wanted to fit, but I can't see how on earth I'd get it on ,there's no way known to man that suckers going to go over that connection ,I've tried everything ,hot water ,dish washing liquid ,no go.
Looks like the original speedo casing would have come with the seal pre fitted.Do I have to get the crimped end off? Any advise welcomed ,Ta Paul.

I have heard of cutting the grommet across the shortest section, put it over the cable and superglue it together again. How long it will last I do not know.

Use either loctite 406 or sikaflex if you do cut the rubber.

Just cut it at 45degrees to the firewall plane. Orientate the grommet so the cut is hidden by the cable. It won't be noticed, and you won't need to glue it. Yes the original were put on prior to crimping ends.

Thanks Marty , I did try with the hot water trick and dishwashing liquid , very difficult ,the cutting method worked well , you can’t see it and won’t pull apart.
