Just wondering if anyone has come across this before

Mc Cloud clutch - new bearing and Super T10 box

The prob i have is when the box is installed the thrust bearing at the rear end is against the input cover plate of the box

The front end is pushing against the fingers of the pressure plate

Only by about 2 - 3 mm but i was hoping for that in bearing free play while the clutch is disengaged

Plate is installed correctly

The only way out of this i can see is to source a "shorter" thrust bearing

Is there such a beastie Prob would need at least 6mm to take out the pressure it is putting on the fingers and also give me a bit of free play

You used to be able to get the proper metal bearing carriers in all different heights. Maybe start with a call to Mal Wood or CRS/Waddingtons?

If you have a friend with a lathe they might be able to modify yours?

You need the 'short' GM clutch release bearing. These are the same type used for Saginaws & Muncies behind V8s in HK/HT/HG/HQ.

The 2 part numbers I have are BRG2081 (Exedy) or TB34003 (Clutch Pro).

^ That's most likely correct, but just looking at the line on the carrier - is the bearing pressed all the way on?

The centre part is not pressed in, it an integral part of the bearing itself, unlike many imports where the bearing is a separate item, pressed on to a carrier.

Some of the early ones I've seen are definitely pressed on, but come to think of it a lot are integrated like you say too
