Hey guys I've got a stock ls3 with extractors, cats and the 3 inch pipes are going on soon in my hatch and just want some feedback on weather i should get mufflers for noise purposes.

I obviously want it loud but not annoying droning, any thoughts of what type of sound i can expect?

Do you have to decide now?

i have a mildly modified LS1 in my LJ with twin 2.5 inch system and straight through mufflers. It was too loud on testing. Sounds good though!

My LS1 has cats and straight through mufflers that you can see through, all 2.5" it just made it through engineering when testing decibels and sounds great

You could get the bi-modal mufflers if your budget allows, will be nice and quiet and pass rego etc then can open em up when you want to.

Mine was 105 dB initially but passed on retesting at 96 dB. All that was required was a baffle plate in each side of the twin system.
