Hi All.
I’d like to fit courtesy light switches in the rear of my 4 door LX Torana.

Has anyone done it and if so, where is the right position for the switches to go and also how is the wiring run to the switches?

Thanks in advance all

Cheers.

Wire will have to be fed down the B pillar.

There is wiring running from the rhs A pillar to the light.

You need to tap into that.

You need to have a look at the distance they are away from the pillar at the front and that should give you a fair indication.

They dont need a whole lot of movement to work.

Thanks Rob.

I have a rough idea but don't want to drill holes unless I'm 100% sure it will work.

Was hoping someone has already done it and could give me the position they know works and where abouts they drilled the B pillar and also how they got the wire down there.

Cheers,

George

Dropping the wire down is easy enough with a piece of brickies line with a weight on the end.

Will obviously need to access through the headlining if already installed.

I used to use a bit of 3 or 4mm solder as the weight.

You will likely need to jiggle it past bolts etc.

The fluoro orange string is best as it is easier to see through the hole you drilled for the switch.

Torch or endoscope cam will help.

Bit of 1mm or so steel wire with a small hook on the end to pull the string.

Make sure the bit of solder is small enough to easily fit through the switch hole when you pull the string through.

Cheers
