Looks like the alloy scrap bin at the local Holden wreckers in the 90’s.

Not sure what to do with the PCV setup as X2 had road draught tube. I don't suppose anyone has one they don't need out there.....

Although I kind of wanted to stick with the PCV. Was thinking of either tapping the manifold or just running off the brake booster port. Would it cause uneven cylinder mixture issues? Engine is fresh so not much blow by.

Don't use the booster port. Is your filler cap the original style vented underneath?

I like the idea of two points in the manifold, between the three manifold branches.
Share whatever oily vapuor there is more evenly between cylinders
Seems a shame to drill into your x2 manifold though.
Could little spacers under each carb be made with a tube in each?

No news in this page for 4 months... engine must have been going well.

Job done

Yes I’m with you Bruce, and that is what a mate did, two spacers made up then tapped and ported. Exhaust studs for the carbs. A lot of bother to get them made up, but I reckon it needs some sort of spacers in any case as currently the linkage bottoms on the manifold, making it nigh impossible to obtain wide open throttle.

Anyway the motor is going well. Putting out of my mind the issue of a couple of lifters still not rotating as they should last I had the cover off. I have to adjust the rockers yet. They are a but rattley when cold but quiet down when warmed up. I initially set them with about 0.005” lash warmed up. I don’t know where I got that idea from. Probably from doing the grey in mrs summers FC.

Set the carbs up with a very simple modification to the original accelerator linkage. I was planning to use an HZ throttle cable and adapt to original pedal, but got too hard, and the original linkage works fine for now. Nice to have some original mechanicals on the car. Started up minus exhaust a couple of times. Tempting to go for a short run but I’ve got a tilt tray booked for a trip to Aldinga Radiators and Exhausts on Tuesday. Due for inspection at Lonsdale In two weeks.

Ah, happy days

Sorry to make suggestions that I know would be a pain in the erse,
easier said than done, especially if it's someone else doing it.
Hope you can swing it though.

The .005"lash was on the cm205 cam? Isn't that a hydraulic number?
If I understood that right, I'd love to know if you've been running this long
set up that way without problems
Does your ute car need an inspection?

Yep the CM205 cam. No issues. Done 5000miles like that.

Increased displacement from 138 to 186 and fitted HR balljoint disc front. Requires inspection, brake fade and Db test. No engineer.
