Hi all ,
does any one have a diagram or exploded view of the reverse gear and depress, linkage connection, as I need to split my transfer case from the box and reset the reverse detent, ?
As I made a rookie mistake and removed the reverse arm linkage bolt .
And now it's locked in reverse 😔

What is it in? Is it a Muncie in a 4x4 or something?

Warren is talking about the removal of the extension housing on an Aussie M20 4spd, probably in his XU1.

Hi Warren Is this what you're after? I've found that you need to make sure the reverse gear is slid all the way rearwards before pulling the selector upwards to engage reverse gear after the extension housing is refitted.

Cheers Kevin

Important, be careful when you remove the extension housing to not lose the detent ball which has probably fallen out into the housing. Remove the detent spring from its well under the bolt that attaches the reverse light switch to the housing.

Upon re assembly do not install the detent ball and spring until the extension housing has been installed, the reverse shift lever is installed and fully engaged onto the shaft and you have tested reverse gear selection is working correctly.

Now install the detent ball & spring into their well and install the reverse light switch.

Got the LC Shop Manual but doesn't cover Aussie 4 speed.
Nice exploded view of 4 speed L4 if any one needs one.
