Hi

Just looking at setting the park brake adjustment

LX and it has been converted to a Salisbury rear end with what i presume is a Statesman disc set up

I have refurbished the calipers a long time ago so all good there

I cannot for the life of me find any info on setting these up apart from a Dave Mc post about doing an A9X

Said you could do it with a pair of pointy nose pliers was about all i got out of it

The brake calipers have not been bled yet (just for info)

I have this arrangement

Any help with how to sort appreciated

Put the caliper back together first

The adjusting while it can be done from the back...is actually done with piston...pad side

Adjustment is not done by handbrake lever either

All those calipers are adjusted same way...all Holden and Ford variants

Thanks Kev

Jackpot

When you say piston side Neil

The caliper comes off the disc to get at this adjustment yes?

All is back together

I take it looking at the diagram Kev supplied above

With the nut adjuster being inside the piston i have to push the piston toward the adjuster screw while rotating it so the thread engages?

The above commentary doesn't seem to cover this

or i have missed something

Sorted

Thanks Kev and Neil

Forum comes through with the goods yet again   :spoton:

Just for posterity's sake thread was already engaged and it was basically an adjustment with rotating the piston

There is no 'adjustment' as such with these callipers. The piston is only wound back in to allow new pads to be fitted & they 'self adjust' as the hydraulic pressure pushes the piston back out again.

Just fully assemble everything, bed the pads in & then adjust the slack out of the cable.
