Flying is the second best thing you can do with both your feet off the ground.

If you walk away from it, its a landing, not a crash, my grandfather told me that and he’d know, he wrote off a Beaufighter during WW2, didn’t help that it had been on fire and was riddled with bullet holes, be he walking away from the smoldering wreck so said it was still technically a ‘landing’ hehe

My other pastimes make me a bit boring with gardening, mainly vegies but the other 1/2 also has me doing the pretty things
AND I like photography and have been doing it since I could hold a Brownie Box camera in my hands as a young fella

Thanks Col and I, took that one morning after walking our young lady to school last year and as I didn't have my Canon, I just used the phone
That's from the overhead walking bridge and soon as I saw it, just couldn't resist getting a pic. That's on the Southern side of the Cootamundra railway station looking north
The Cockatoo's have been coming in the morning to sit in 2 pine trees next door and bloody hell they are noisey. Probably about a hundred or more of them. The tried to sit in our Magnolia Grandifolia tree at the back of our house but I squirted them with water and they must have got the idea I don't want there as they don't do it anymore
The photo of the wife and myselft was taken in Tassie on our 2009 Torana Tour and it was nice to get away from the group for a short while in that lovely quiet spot. Set the camera up on a tripod and set the timer for 10 secs
Tassie is a great place to tour, especially in a Torana

If you want to distract White Cockys from certain plants, just plant a Passionfruit vine or a Liquid Amber. Passionfruit and Covid balls (Liquid Amber nuts) are two of my Cocky’s favourite things.
Photography is good fun Barry, which you already know.
Already have the passion fruit vine which has gone beserk but not producing. The vine is only about 10m away from the trees those screeching cockies get into every morning
Think I will thin it out this winter

Looking through everyone's hobbies it looks like most of us have the everything engine bug. As far back as I can remember just about every hobby I have ever had has at least one engine in it. 100% agree with you Laurie. Flying is also one of my passions. Been flying for many years and have my private pilots license, multi engine, night VFR rated. Its a big buzz that's hard to describe unless you have personally been in the left front seat.
Nice photos Barry, Photography is the only hobby I have that doesn't have an engine. I like getting one of my cars out and do some light painting.

Don't you need 2 seperate passionfruit vines for them to produce?
Dunno. Maybe an old wives tail.

Trackdays with my Brother and 2 sons. ( last one - 9/3/2021 track night all 4 of us on the track together)
rode enduro bikes for 20 years - won the Bert Bayliss open class (no more bikes)
coached baseball for 20 years - club, state cup, state, Head coach Sydney Winter major league, Australian Academy - professional development coach (pitching) retired.
Don't do car shows anymore or anything club related, only got a few more years of track days before I retire and go to the nursing home and sit in the corner and dribble.
its been a wild ride and some stunning memories ( have to write them all down before I get dementia)
Like:-
a gun held at my head x 3 time, while at work.
out drank by a chimpanzee, while at work. Damn "Ivan the terrible" could drink (and fart) Ivan bludge several beers and cigarettes off me, gave me the finger when I would not buy him another beer and cocked a leg and farted in my general direction. I said he could be an honorary Australian and was just like my mates.
Blown up in a mine 1500 ft under lake Wangi Wangi
and about 50 there notable events.
driving at track days and gardening is all that is left and I am happy with that.
