Not a patch on the original GroupC big bangers though. Screaming 427 BBC, Traco 327ci and 350ci 500hp+ SBC engines in Novas, Camaros and Monaros. High revving Transam spec Karcraft 302 Mustang etc.

I'm not really into Chevrolets ,I just love the Group C Aussie muscle cars . I'm going to build a Greens Tuff Johnson Falcon replica after this Torana is finished.

lol...those ones were just before my time.
My first Bathurst was A9X era, then the Commodes.
The VK Gp A were nice to, appeared to be very simple cars.

I do get that. The proper GroupC Muscle Cars though were the Beechey HK and HT 81837’s, Jane Z28 Camaro, Geohegan XY and Moffat Mustang. The best bang for buck later GroupC replica would have to be a Bartlett Camaro, you’d buy a good one for a song and repro parts are easy to get. It easily had the most power in its era, used to easily out power and out qualify the 308’s and 351’s but suffered due to rear drums. It was on pole for both 1980 and 1981.

Up the top, just past the Dipper.
A wheel goes past ??..then Tim Slako's black A9X Hatch follows on 3 wheels.
None of which has anything to do with this topic..lol

I read somewhere that the red was a Nissan colour at the time. Not a GMH one.

What did you eventually work out?

Cheers

Cheers l was told by a reputable source ie one of Harry Firths ex racing buddies the red was a mixture to try and match the cigarette box colour on the Marlboro Packet and isn't on the charts .Nissan Beacon Red A is the closest as well as Salamanca Red which is a Holden colour .
