Hi all , I purchased a LCGTR clutch fork return spring online , it was described as being for LCGTR Opel box and hooks on to a welded tab on the clutch inspection housing , then onto the fork.
However there is no tab anywhere I can see.
My car does however have the hole in the k frame to accommodate a spring , I’m thinking I’ve been supplied with the wrong spring .There is another Torana LC/LJ spring pictured which looks entirely different . Which one is correct ? The one I purchased is going to be way too short.
Thanks Paul.

What a mob of forking tools. It is a clutch fork return spring for a HK (possibly HT & HG) with opel 4spd. Nothing to do with LC Torana at all.

Hi Paul

Does your cover look like this one ? This one looks to have small tab in the left of the picture

I’ve only seen LC with Opel with the spring that Dave is talking about.

Thanks, I am thinking the metal tab on this one would be where the spring mounts and the other end with the hook in the clutch lever in whatever model that cover is from

Can’t imagine why it would hook up there?

The workshop manual illustrates that the spring is attached to to the K frame . Unless the real early ones were different.

You would be correct Simon. Cover Pt No. 7430097 suits HK 6cyl 4 spd - exc H/duty 4spd.

All LC Torana 6cyl 3 & 4 spd manual use Cover Pt No. 7430096

Can’t imagine why it would hook up there?

'Cause HK,T,G don't have an outrigger arm to hook a spring onto? :D

Whilst we're on the subject, are the clutch fork return springs for a LJ with an Aussie 4 speed gearbox available anywhere?

Those are not identical to the original but probably the closest you are going to find other than an original SH part.

Tell them it isn't the correct spring for an LC with OPEL 4spd and demand a refund.
