Just spotted that Auto Surplus is selling these for at least red V8 and most red 6. I knew they were out there but wasn't sure who made them.

Probably still made in higher volumes as lots of it would be common with the longer pump up until the end of VS. The 6cyl pump is a lot cheaper with the crappy impeller.

Interesting they quote one pump 1963 - 1969 for 6 cylinder, as the pulley and fan hole spacing changed at some stage between EH and HK. Don't ask me how I know.

You can always press on your original hub to the new pump, but then you could also press your original cast impeller on to a new pump you can buy for $25 at local parts shop.

But I note in that thread the P/N was W1000 which appears to be for later model 308's?

WP808CG seems to be this units part number.

I found a good second hand pump with a cast impeller and had the hub changed over to suit the pulley , haven’t started the car yet so I hope the pump is ok.

They used to be, unsure when they changed. I bought one a handful of years ago and I thought it still had made in Japan on it. I might go check my spare.

Either way, I've found the GMB to be of good quality, or certainly the few I've used over the years.

So from reading the other post. The impeller rotates anti clockwise when sitting in the drivers seat.

I don’t know if this diagram is from in front or behind?

But again, I note yours is P/N: W1000? Yet the one on eBay is P/N: WP808CG???

I've got a new W1000 here and the vanes curve the same way as my NOS single outlet one. The same as the one drawn on above.  GMB has 8. NOS has 6.

W1000 has long snout.

Clears that up! So the W1000 is for later model 308's?

Their text for P/N: WP808CG states that it is to suit models with P/N: 3947772 stamped into the fan...???? So its only for air con models? Which would have a viscous hub?
