These will fit ok on the 7 inch rims. i reckon the 205's will look too skinny.

I was looking at these, overall tyre height is 565.2mm substantially smaller than the 205/60 R13 (600.2mm), so should not have any concerns with rubbing. My only concern would be the extra 10mm width, do you think it will clear the guards, as mine are not flared.

I was looking at these, overall tyre height is 565.2mm substantially smaller than the 225/60 R13 (600.2mm), so should not have any concerns with rubbing. My only concern would be the extra 10mm width, do you think it will clear the guards, as mine are not flared.

I think so. I had 235's on the back of mine years ago. They didn't rub, but I can't remember if my guards were rolled or not.

235s will be fine i used to run 265s on the back of an unflared LX Torana decades ago

yes they rubbed only when you went over a big bump  :)

I used to run 265/50/14 rear and 245/50/14 front on an LX hatchback. The rear guards were actually cut not folded (spot welded back together) to clear the 265. The tyres used to also rub on the shock towers when cornering hard and I hit a bump. 235/60/14 fitted easily too.
On the front with the 245 on 14x7 had to roll the guards and flatten the seam on the firewall. Tyre used to scrub the spoiler back edge too. With the right offset 225 should be good.
This had HK-WB stubs with standard height front springs and 1” lower on the rear.

Hi Cool, just to clarify your 235's were  235/50/R13 on the rears, if so do you think I'd get away with them also on the front. The car was running 225/60 R13 with no probs

I think Gene is saying he had 265/50/14 not 235.

Any tyre will scrub if the rim offset is not suitable.

I have had 235 on the rears and i have had 245/50/14 s like Byron said on the front with no flares

235/50/13 should not be a problem
