This radiator cap was bought new from Rares 3 years ago. Check out the severe rust developing on the shaft. The coolant I am using is a strong mixture of the Red Devil recommended Gycol/Coolant with de-mineralised water. What concerns me is that Glycol is supposed to be anti corrosion/anti freeze so why is this cap rusting?? whats happening in my block? Would an excessively strong mixture actually be corrosive???I don't ever recall glycol coolant causing this sort of corrosion. We don't need anti freeze in Qld so why can't you buy an anti corrosion radiator additive that just stops corrosion? Is it the case that this portion of the cap is not being protected by the inhibitor because its not being submerged in it?
