Hey Fellas,
Can anyone here help out? I need rebuild instructions for front girlock calipers. I think these are from a HX or WB.
Cheers

Melton Victoria. I already disassembled, got the kit and honed the cylinder bores, etc. I just wanted the official rebuild instructions since all my rebuild manuals etc. are for Torana

Could be alloy or cast Girlocks
I hope you didn't put a hone down the bores
Putting them together is easy enough... yeah grab a Gregories

Do you need to glue on the dust cover?
Hey Dattoman, They are alloy Girlocks and yep, I put a hone down the bores. What is wrong with that?

No glue
The bore is not the sealing surface
The piston is
If you have gone too wild with a hone you could have damaged the caliper body
It just needs to be cleaned... wire brush and metho
Piston on the other hand needs to be spot on... or replaced

Cheers Datto, The pistons look good but the aluminium bore was pretty bad, lots of pitting and corrosion so I just cleaned it up very lightly with the little baby hone I have here. I was careful not to overbore it cause I will be reusing the original pistons, they look ok. Actually, the front of the piston had a bit of rust even though the cavity was totally full of brake fluid. Just on the inner, unmachined section, not on the machined face. I removed all rust and totally polished the front of the pistons taking care not to touch the machined face.
It would have been good to know the max run out on the bore
