As a kid, I remember looking for the raised bonnet on the TC Cortina and not picking a fight. I had a LJ 186 four speed at the time ??

+1Late Ford 6 and Hemi 6 from the 70’s. Nothing else compares!
Very hard to beat the Barra for what you get.

I knew a few blokes who were lucky to get to six, most were two pot screamers......
If we are sticking to the era suggested it was always the hemis.
And the Harry Kojima cars.

If Ford or GMH had that Hemi engine they would have been far more successful than Chrysler were with it. There simply wasn’t enough backing and support.

No but they won far more 500 mile races with 4cyl engines than GMH ever did with a 6!

XU1s were the go,
until a 6 Pack Charger turned up.
250 c.i. Cortinas were not quite there.
265 Centuras were fast-ish, but rare.

160 horses from a 2.0 Ltr means it’s no slouch in a road car. Nearly 190 in race trim.
