Hey guys

quick question, do I need to modify / cut the floor to fit this transmission in.

i put the engine and gearbox in on the weekend and the transmission seems to be hitting the floor, at the time I didn't have my new crossmember. (that arrived today)

Cheers

I've got a TH700 with modified shifter and linkage, custom cross member, to fit with only tunnel changes being to accommodate the shifter itself. Its tight getting a reasonable driveline angle but it clears with HQ engine mounts:

(also see post 157 on same page)

A cable operated shifter would probably make life easier, but I don't see how you'd fit the factory linkage without cutting or modifying it, or having the trans too low/poor angle.

Or a HX-HZ Statesman cable shifter which if mounted right will work with the original console.

The non-Statesman rod type will so can’t see why the cable one won’t. It may not show the gears but they do work.

The shifter will drop into 1st but the trans will be in 2nd - same as the rod type
