Rare Spares sell the sender. Guage will have to be after market or find one second hand.

OEM LC & LJ fuel gauges and tank sender units operate on 0 to 30 ohms empty to full.

I have a strong fuel smell at the moment, I bought a new gasket and retainer ring from Rare Spares (not sure I got the right one) and went to fit it. When I removed the metal guard that sits over the top of it, I noticed that the pipe which bends and goes into the tank appears to have a crack in it at the bend. It this normal or is this the source of the fuel smell. I have picture but I'm struggling to upload it.

Is that a crack in the pipe itself or the solder sealing the pipe to the mounting plate? There should be no cracks in any of the fuel line components and yes a crack will be the source of your fuel smell.

Thats what thought, thanks for the reply. If I could upload the picture you would see the crack in the weld/solder.

It's ok, I have fixed many Holden & Torana fuel tank sender units in my younger years, even some f-f-f-f-ford ones too.

I had the same problem, it was pin holes or a crack in the pipe.
