About to do my brake lines, fuel lines and want some advice from people in the know. I've been looking at the Mastercool hydraulic flaring tool as I have had very limited to no success with the cheap clamp types ones, am I on the right path with the Mastercool?

Also I have to go from from a Commodore iso bubble one end to imperial 45 degree double flare on the other end is the possible?

Thanks in advance

I use a Brakequip tool very easy and quick to use, does single, double and ball flares. Not cheap but after using one of these your will never use the cheap Chinese ones again.

I have the cheap one...good for 5/8 fuck all...emergency only

I have the Mastercool hydraulic...if this is the one you mean

https://www.masterco...aring-tool-set/

Also handy for doing fuel fittings on GM's

Not bad...handy for some on car work...but cumbersome to handle

I also have a version of the vice mounted one above (Sykes Pickavant).. this is the one I prefer

Each has its uses on any given day

Bought a no brand one looks similar but not as many dies or what ever they are called. About $120 to door.

They do bell or ball what ever. Just be sure you have metric and imperial if you want to do commodore I suppose.

Thanks for the replies all, Dattoman hmm, I do need to do GM fuel fittings. Also Dattoman chances of doing crap flares on Mastercool?

Also is it possible to do iso bubble on one end and 45 degree on other end of the same brake line?

Ps yes Mastercool hydraulic the one posted in the link.

Cheers Dave

I too suffered with the cheap shit clamp style for many years until i bought the eastwood professional jobby.

http://www.ppcco.com...eastwood28.html

OMFG i love this thing! Quick & perfect every time :spoton:

Only drawback though is its vice mounted, could be used on the car but not easily.

I do like the look of the hydraulic units that Datto linked, maybe i should have some more research before buying mine but anyway was so impressed with the perfect job mine does that i wanted to replumb everything i could

Some tools you can skimp on.

Ones involving brake lines or hydraulics - not an area to go cheap in my opinion
