Yes I saw that older thread but I don't think there was anything specific for LJ and don't want to order them unless I know for certain. Paul (Indy Orange) I assume yours is LJ (sorry for my ignorance).

Ratted through the suspension bits that came with my car and found these wishbone bushes. They were bought in the early 80's from Holden so are these NOS? reason for question is that someone said that some items bought from Holden in the 80's and onwards were actually Rares stuff? also found eight (8). so other rubber bushes which I have no idea what they are for. anyone have any idea's?

These are xmember to chassis rail mounting insulators. You need 8 of them.

Nothing on the other end of the bushes? Agree M could be for Mackay Rubber.
Mackay were the OEM supplier to GMH so no different to buying Holden branded parts.

Had my mechanic replace all the upper control arm bushes, bottom control arm bush (1), chassis rubbers and bump stops. I have a question though. The bump stops are now resting (touching their stop) is that the way they are supposed to be?. My mechanic reckons the bump stops were a shit of a thing to insert

Upper control arm bump stops?
When the weight is back on the suspension?
Or when it's still up on the hoist?

When the weight is on the suspension?
The UCA bump rubbers on my LJ are constantly in contact with the shoulder of the spring tower

Sorry for slow response. Yes sorry Dave upper control arm bump stops. Looks like they are resting on the stop. Standard XU1 suspension and car on ground (not on hoist). Ok so this is normal thankfully. My old ones were that shredded that it wasn't obvious how it was supposed to look. Actually there is a difference in the original upper control arm bush and the NOS one I replaced it with. The inner metal tube on the original is perfectly round with no split in the steel tube and the NOS one has a split in it. Otherwise they are identical. Would think it would be more difficult to manufacture the split tube type? Turns out my upper and lower original ball joints were good? I would have thought with over 100,000miles they would have needed replacement

Sorry Gary you are correct. They are the same bush for all the rear suspension bushes.
