Seeing if anyone has had this issue and how have you dealt with it.
When I have my doors shut on the gtr the rear window frames are proud at least 5 mil compared to the front window frame. The doors are aligned across the lower panels so that’s not the issue. Can the new rubbers push the quarter windows out that far? Do I need to bend the brackets that are riveted onto the quarter window frames to ‘pull’ the whole window closer to the body?

Are the door rubber new?

Old door rubbers and new rear quarters could make that difference.

All new rubbers Marty. It’s shitting me to tears when I look at it. Stupidly when the panel work was going on we test fitted everything bar the quarter windows as we assumed that if the doors line up the rest will follow. I’ll take a pic and post it up tomorrow in the daylight.

"I was told" Haven't tested yet.

Rares quarter rubbers are too thick and best quarter rubbers are from Torana restorations.

I bought the Torana restoration ones for the LC but along way of fitting to give a first hand account.

Window frames are bent or there's something wrong with the front mounts?

Open the doors and take pics of the B pillars and front edges of the rear qtr window frames.

The front door window frames fit neat against the b pillar and seals fit nice too. I’m going to pull the quarter window seal out and see if I can get the rear quarter frame to sit better. If I bent the front frames out to suit the quarters I would have a gap at the top for the rain to get in

If it was me, I'd pull the rear window seals off & see if you can get the windows to sit properly. If you can, look into some new seals or doing something with yours. Otherwise if it's still bad, the frames are the problem.

It may be worth keeping in mind the fact that these cars weren't built to perfection when new. Some cars had better gaps and panel alignment than others. Are we striving for a better finish than what the components are capable of. I'm not saying to be content with that fitment, it would annoy me too but these cars weren't built like a Rolls Royce.

Torana Restoration Parts rear 1/4 window seal LC - UC Torana

The Torana Restoration parts seal looks closer to the original seal than the RSP product.

It also has the correct roebuck grain on the pinchweld.
