Hi Fellow members

I have found some specs that the LX steering column shaft is 920mm long fully extended and the original LC one is 820mm. I am wanting to use this extra 100mm of shaft to assist my first uni joint location from the fire wall on my LC Holden V8 conversion as it will suit my extractors better and i will not have to cut out the front K-frame .  Has anyone fitted this LX shaft to the LC column before?

I think LC and LX have different splines for the steering wheel too.

Have you investigated the steering shaft for HK, T, G Holden? They have the same steering wheel splines and upper column bearing assy as the LC Torana.

Also the lower end of the lx column is 1" OD where the bearing goes, the LC is much smaller. If I could find my verniers I could measure it for you but it is only around half the overall diameter.
The column outer tube look to be the same so you could adapt the lx style bearing to the LC column but yes steering wheel end different too. Much easier to swap LX and LJ parts around.
