You're not wrong there Dave. It's actually a lot like a description of this forum on many occasions.

Hahaha i posted that on one of the torana pages.
FB can really shit me, have no doubt its creating some badly built/dangerous cars due to the poor info.
Such bad info and they take it as gospel.
Far better info and knowledge base on this forum.

We used to think this applied to the forum in some capacity, until social media car pages came to fruition. Holy moly, did that change the yard stick.

The sheer inconvenience of going to a specific website to talk about a car problem is what makes a forum a better resource.

In the same way that eBay or Gumtree has less time wasters than Facebook marketplace.

The convenience of a Facebook group and its questions that get shoved in the faces of members (who are not active car enthusiasts, who haven't been filtered out, and normally haven't worked on a Torana for 30 years if ever) is the main reason those places suck. It's too public, too convenient (everyone is already on there).

The negatives of this forum are of course the same couple of members who are just talking verbal diarrhea amongst themselves continuously, not realising that they are making the place less inclusive for less frequent or new members. It may entertain some but I am very sure it deters many.

All has been lost? Some of the pictures have disappeared but most of the information is still here, and we still have some of the most knowledgeable blokes around on here.

If we could cut out some of the mindless drivel, or at least keep it contained to Off Topic, it would be even better still.

You are a Moderator, perhaps some moderating is needed? :wedgie:

I for one, realise that not everything I say in here is Torana related, but I do try and keep it to the appropriate threads. Unfortunately, there isn't much more to say about Torana's that hasn't already been said in here, so without some other sort of banter, it will get awfully quiet.  We are one of the last active forums in Australia.

My memory isn’t too good so if I can’t find an existing thread I have to ask again.😬

I'm with you Laurie, banter is good, but some of it is not banter but more like primary school rubbish.

2 things that really irk me are banned forum members that buy their way back in and moderators that assume because of their status that they can attack new members.
