So while I'm stirring you homos (you know who you are) I'm standing here watching my 11yo daughter play street fighter on an original machine while listening to Mettallica on CD. How good is life?

That's the meaning of life right there.

Our town is overrun by idiots atm so a good time to stay home and potter round in the shed and garden and enjoy the view, but I'm more of a reggae kinda guy -

I was forcefully retired 4 years and 3 months ago.

Courtesy of a car driver who wasnt actually watching what he was looking at.

I still endure a lot of pain from time to time.

Recovering has been both physically and mentally trying.

6 months ago I bought about 3/4 acre in central west NSW.

Cowra.

Love the pace of the town.

I prefer country type people much more than those who dwell in and around the major centres on the coast.

I spent most of my formative years in a little village not far from Wollongong in distance, but worlds away in terms of friendliness.

That place has now more than doubled over a year, and the city types are quickly turning it into the type of place they were trying to escape from.

In the process of building a shed. 10m x 20m.

Will be talking to the concretor later today.

The shed will allow me to move along on my projects, which have been neglected for various reasons, primarily being lack of a shed.

They are

P76

LS1 powered with a 6 speed manual.

8 ITB injection

Modern resto.

1988 Toyota Dyna Tilt Tray

Bought it to move house nearly 2 years ago.

Blew a steel radiator pipe on the 3rd trip and totally cooked the diesel engine.

Now powered with an LS1 through the original 5 speed manual.

Just needs some tidying up to get it ready for engineering.

UC 4 door.

Recently purchased from close by.

Good honest car with very little rust visible, which is a good sign.

Will give it a coat of paint and clean up the interior.

Still undecided on drivetrain, but will ensure it stops better than standard, and will put bits in less likely to break from getting a hard time.

2006 Softail

Not much to do on it.

I was riding it when the car pulled out on me.

I have a new tank for it, and made a widened front guard to go with the wider front tyre and twin discs that went on it previously.

I have lots of things to play with once the shed is built.

No real hurry for any of them, but would like the tilt tray running so I can do some more buying and selling.

Life isnt quite how I expected it to be thats for sure.

But I do what I can, and try to make the most of it.

Cheers

Rob

Hmmmm... not really.

I mean life is enjoyable, but it's more of a pursuit currently than it is a steady state which is satisfying.

"The less I want then the more I'm free", no doubt. But without a house with a good shed setup, a romantic partner, and my Torana properly buttoned up and usable, I feel I've got a fair bit more to strive for before I can smell the roses.

No, life doesn't suit me, too old to the things I could do and no stamina to do things I want or need to get done. All a bit of a struggle, partner went into ICU today with lung infection. Not Covid, Also it's bloody hot , I've been taking parts for people off Toranas in the paddock

Life is good! I'm about to get out of construction, and the city, and get back to the country to start oyster farming with Dad again... He's getting ready to hang up the boots, so it's time for me to have a crack at it.

Can't complain. Shed could be bigger I suppose, but you know how that goes. Happy family. Work is OK. Super OK. Health OK. Retirement looming. Plenty to do.

Life is great, got a job on the spanners again, house renos nearly done so can enjoy a couple of tins on the back porch with the missus.  Got a bigger project ahead once the sheds empty courtesy of the only tree in a paddock to fall and take out a shed/tractor and the project car.  Just means more work to get it going and brush up on welding skills.

yep, its a shame. need to take a deep breath and look at it properly.  The upside is it is a rolling shell with all the glass and lh door in the shed and nobody got hurt getting the tree off it.  Cheers

I love the simple things in life. There is nothing better than siting around a fire a couple of hundred kays from the nearest town and having a few drinks with mates.  Or working on a car with my sons with some good music playing in the background.  Or walking down a lane behind a mob of sheep teaching a new pup the finer points of mustering.

The missus and I had to spend a few days in Perth last week and the hole (sic) place made my head hurt.
