Folks, little stuck.

i have to remove the lower control arms from my ht, there is a through pin that I am assuming needs to be moved forward or back to get the lower control arm off.

does anyone know if these are a press fit in or a slide fit, do they screw into the frame at all, before i go beating on it with a hammer, does not hurt to ask

No, you leave the "pin" intact.

Remove the 2 bolts at the lower arm pivot & then use an air chisel (or similar) to remove the bushes (including their outer shells). The arm will then come off.

You just do the reverse.

Put the arm in place & then, using a hammer & socket (or tube) push the bushes thru the hole in the arm.

You will need to fabricate a u-shaped spacer to support the arm while you hit the bush inward.

Get yourself a good workshop manual, it will give you a good rundown.

Thankyou, i just have a ht front end, not a ht holden so it is a bitza ute

i will bring an air chisel home and see what i can take off, is a heat torch on the rubber a good idea first or not, I am a little concerned about damaging those pins whilst trying to remove the lower arms
