That may prove difficult. Do you know what the number should be?

You will be looking for a J4 cast block with a number around the HT26###

Actually, just chatting to another of your Kiwi friends, that last post may be incorrect. There may have been some blocks that were sitting around Holden for a while before they wee shipped over.

Can you confirm that your car doesn't have the BODY number stamped on top of the right hand chassis rail at the front?  Can you post a few pics of the engine bay?

I can understand if you don't want to show it, but there are a few of us in here who would love to see a pic of the chassis number stamped into the chassis rail and the welds on this section.

No. To see if it was the same as the other NZ assembled Toranas that have popped up lately, which have no chassis number stamped into them.  I assume yours was imported as a complete car then.

That is a very 1980's accessory. I have owned a couple over the years, including the one that plays "Dixie" from The Dukes of Hazzard, and funnily enough, I think they were made in Italy as well.

Lads, has anyone used an alternative to the original in tank fuel strainer? seems you have to buy the whole assembly and cant get the strainers separate.

There are a myriad of small bag type filters available.

I rang a filter supplier some years ago to find one for the LJ and they were nice enough to send me out a couple of odd ones they had that sounded close. One of them was suitable.
