Has anyone used one of the restocountry bonnet hinge area replacement panel for LH?

Wondering what the fit is like?

I haven't used that product, sorry.

I've done a fair few Toranas in that area and always managed to fix it just with simple patch panels that are nearly entirely made of flat sections. You'd have to have some pretty severe rust in that area to need a replacement panel, I'd have thought?

Out of curiousity, do you have photos of the area on your car?

That doesn't surprise me.

If you manage to get the photos happening and need any fabrication advice, post it up.

Good luck with the repair, and make sure you put a good weld through primer or whatever between the two sheets of metal before you weld the second one in!

If it’s not too bad the patch on the engine bay side is just a flat piece so easy to cut out and weld in . I also made new backing plates , was easy with just a small 30cm metal bender . Plug weld it on and run a bead of sealer all the way around the backing plate as I reckon that’s where the water gets in and starts rusting between the plate and panel
