Hi all
I'm a new member and I thought id share my latest resto on a little LJ SL Torana
Taken a while this time round with work , kids ect but finaly getting there almost finished
From the start .....

More sanding ready for a few more coats of surfacer , this time in white surfacer as a clean base to start laying colour over

In to white surfacer for a clean colour lay down as the colour I decided on is fire orange and is quite transparent also helps with colour light change effect and coverage

Finaly getting some colour down on frames and underside of pannels
2 pac Black over 2 pac fire orange and finished off in a high quality 2pac high gloss clear

Baked off then carefully fitted all the panels back on and spent quite a bit of time getting all the gaps spot on

The weather started to turn and get a bit to cold so moved on with all the other things that needed doing

Time to rebuild the new 202 , all new
Flat top pistons , molly rings , decent cam , ballenced crank , new timing gear
New hy lifters ,push rods running a yellaterra head with matching,YT Rolla rockers , springs and running a tripple su set up and a gated xu1 sump

Fitted motor into car along with rebuilt 4 sp box and new performance clutch and flywheel then bolted on new extractors , custom made exaust then modified manifold to height of extractors and bolted on rebuilt tripple su cards
Then hooked it all up wired in and kicked it in the guts for the first time .... ran well so far

Custom heat sheild I made up as an afterthought as one of the carbies were spitting fuel Strait onto the extractors while I was tuning them
They are also known to do the same at lights when they get hot and are prone to heatsoak

You also may have noticed I've put the body into an orange base that I will sand before painting when it warms up a bit ...

2pac fire orange base layed down then left to dry overnight before taping off for black outs then clear over the orange and black base
