Hi,

Does anyone know if anyone over there makes replacement little sections for the bits in front of the windscreen. The bits that are behind the guards and next to the windscreen scuttle panel. (In my mind that description works!....LOL)

Cheers.

The base of the A Pillar?

Most pain in the arse section to cut off a car, given its modest size.

I don't know of any reproduction ones. :( And I don't have any more of them lying around.

Hi Kudo.  You could try forum member Rodney "2redrovers".  He may be able to help. Cheers Ron

Hi, I just got your message but thought I'd reply here in case others are looking for them too. Yes I can help you out with new replacement parts. They are a rather complex little chunk of steel which is why not many people seem to make them (or they're seemingly expensive for such a small part).

I make mine by hand from 1mm cold rolled steel sheet, hammer formed over custom jigs. I can do them for $120ea including postage if required. (I'm located in Seaford VIC)

These are the pair I've made for the current car

They are just the tip of the iceberg though...

I've replaced everything on the top of the A pillar and made a new plenum section to replace the thin rusty original metal.
Last shot there is the new custom hinge support panel that also acts as strengthening across the top of the pillar. It's mid way through installation there and will be invisible once the outer skins go back on. There's quite a few custom mods like that in this build.

I would say that price is very reasonable. :)

Thanks Heath. After someone mentioned that they'd seen some but they were "pricey", I had a hunt around to see if I could find the maker. Turned out they are a tad above the price of mine... Like nearly double..
