Ok so my wheels are;
hot wire - 80mm
sprinty - 75mm
steel wheel 65mm
standard axle - 63mm.
not as accurate as Col's method and only closer to the face and not inside.

So just to confirm, Terry is doing the engineering?
Posted 14 August 2014 - 07:04 PM
Ok so I'm no engineer and don't proclaim to be some super duper expert on diffs. But personally I always try to do stuff 100% or the best i can.
The center is from harrop.
the axles are from Terry.
My mechanic who raced with terry or held his hand, which i cannot remember now, but he calls up terry and goes " where is that dick head " so they must be good friends.
He said and i quote " i have a bloke here who needs some axles like mine, he's straight up and won't dick you around " passes the phone over to me and that the start of the conversation.
so yes terry will be;
1) providing billet axles and machining to suite what yourdiff is - to date i only have one variance and this is A9X diff with a hq drum brakes and HQ stud pattern. the rest are standard LJ stuff.
2) custom making the backing plate - which will be thicker
3) providing studs on the drilled axles
4) if required machining the center diameter to suit your rims - but standard torana brake drums will have to be machined as the center hole fits over the axles
5) studs for the axles - A9X want's thicker studs
6) wheel bearings pressed on
the above is the goal.
So yes terry has the biggest job and technical job. I'm seeing him tomorrow in person for the first time.
but you all have to sign off on the specifications of the diff and axles prior to this stuff going ahead as i only wanted one (1) set up and don't want to hear about bull shit for 40 years after.
