Good to see they gave the greatest Torana the majority of the cover
lol, not according to Harry Firth.
Seems at the end of LJ XU1 production Harry would have preferred to race Gemini's packed with XU1 running gear than the big box Torana's.

Says in the intro that Harry passed away during the publication so the magazine must have first appeared almost 12 months ago.
Haven't seen it at my local newsagent until the other day.
Cheers
Dave.

From what I've read Harry was a talented man with an interesting history. If it wasn't for him perhaps none of us would be playing with such great cars now and the same goes for the ford guys since he was responsible for getting the falcon to start performing too. Lucky for us he switched camps.
I've one of the earlier versions with Harry's signature and the reason he "switched" camps was that he was pushed out by Ford after they hired American Alan Turner to take over Harry's position
Dumb move by the Fraud people and a blessing for us

Ever the industrious one, Harry had written 3 pages of his latest book whilst in hospice
I was lucky to get 2hrs with Harry in November 2013 after we came off the boat from our Torana Tassie tour
Just before we left I asked Harry what would he like for having us there (2hrs), he replied "just buy a poster if you like"
I'd already some of them and when I told him he said "what about one of my dilly bags?"
Well Harry had some T-shirts made but the print was not straight so he then had the shirts cut up and made into dilly bags
This is something I will always treasure from Harry
Barry

Only thing wrong with the Great Mag by Harry was the old Crash Barrier Story been wrong and not the case and Harry been told wrong inforormation or just towing the Line with that Story.
Al, judging from a number of things Harry has to say about his relationship/dealings with GMH management I reckon he wasn't told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth and neither were others within GMH that were close to Harry and the HDT.

True in some respects Dave
But if they were Tendered, the People from GMH that were close to HDT must not of seen the Tenders or only those up the Ladder at GMH must of been the only ones that knew of there Sales other than the Orange Car as the Tender Sheet has surfaced for that car. The other two are not on the same Tender sheet as Orange Car so must of been sold before that car.

Or after the Orange car was put up for tender.

There is a Pink LJ in a Photo behind the Orange Car at Bathurst Motors on the Bathurst Weekend of 1973, so the Pink car was still around in late 1973. And GMH have never give a Date when the Cars were Destroyed and no one can tell a date cause it did not happen.
