I'm looking for an upper and lower radiator hose for an LJ with a 308.
Can anyone recommend what hoses will suit?
The top hose on the radiator is on the drivers side and the lower house is on the passenger side.
Thanks

Depends what radiator & thermostat housing.
Most common is 253/308 kingswood or early v8 commodore then shorten hoses untill fit nicely.

I've tried LH 308, VK 308 and WB but they didn't fit.
Ideally I'm trying to find some braided hoses that fit straight on.
Any as distances is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

What radiator are you using?

Strange as those are standard hoses I've used except last time used tefba filter in top hose to match later commodore hoses....bottom hose is difficult to get right due to angle.
Radiators all in same car,several guises...hev/hq 5 core,vk 6cyl as six pot then it's had vk v8(bad fit),vs s3 v8 & hq v8 during it's v8 phase all cut down factory hoses.
Would go with vr-vs v6 2 row raditor with vs slimlime thermofan if did it again with mild efi 5 litre..light & damn cheap setup
Otherwise tried & proven stock copper hq radiator, cut down shroud & flat plastic fan with short nose cast impellor w/pump...kingy radiator needs trimming..commo radiator needs side+ bottom brackets
*make sure got correct thermostat & bypass hose connected
Put up some pics but been done before by several peeps.

I was planning on using either a stock HQ cooper style, or an aftermarket aluminium one.
They have the large brackets/plate on the side I thought would be easy to make fit somewhere.
I haven't lookied in detail, but I think you just need to trim this down around the chasis rails....then new holes?

Even if you get braided ones you should still be able to cut down.
Depends on radiator and motor I guess.

I forgot to mention it has VS injected heads. Not sure if this changes anything?
Would you still recommend the HQ hoses?
Thanks

Only real difference is thermostat housing hose is level where earlier commo/kingy have them angled up.
Your basically shrinking it all to jam into tiny torana.
Each model seem slightly different but end up modding whatever you use.
Yes on hq radiator chop bottom side sections to clear rails then bolt to radiator support...downside is takes up valuable room so cant fit decent thermofans front or rear...found shroud + plastic fan was only thing kept car cool on hottest day but hated how cramped engine bay was hence going commodore radiator.
Get yourself 2nd hand or busted vn-vs v6 radiator + vs v6 thermofan (looks thinner)...should be dirt cheap or practically free then dummy it up with L brackets if cant find a wrecked early vb-vk commodore for brackets...
^^ Trial fit that setup then decide which like better kingswood or commodore...either one requires work & good/bad points....after time spent getting rubber hoses to fit braided hoses would be bigger nightmare.

You should have 38mm radiator inlet and outlet. I went and checked my spare hoses against the hatch, the ute and the yellow LJ.
This is how it should look when done. That's my new Chinese cheapie radiator. Works a charm.

I might give the HQ hoses a try. I'll keep you all posted.

Hi, Im using HQ hoses trimmed to suit with a HQ 3 core radiator with ford Mondeo dual thermo fans. (top hose has a Tefba filter which you should definitely consider.
Was running a cut down shroud (i think it was off a valiant...) with fan initially. It can get pretty tight in there!
