Some tough cars rocked. Didn't get to many pics but check this lineup.
The only other torana there that day. Haven't seen this one in town before.

LH SL/R blackouts.
I am super happy how it looks. I was unsure if I wanted to to it because the more I got it in the sun the more I liked it the way it was but now I’m so glad I did. Even makes the wheels look better.
I’m just waiting for the new weather belts and other rubbers to arrive and I ordered some new black tail lights today to. Can’t wait to get it all back together.

Set of nice polished HotWires would look so good on that
Yeah I’m undecided on what wheels to go yet. As much as I love hotwires normally I’m not a huge fan of them when non flared torana. Maybe a set of them in 15” or bigger might look good.

Also fitted up some new tail light lenses. Definitely looks better then the old grey ones which I had all intentions on just painting black but they were a little too tired and the new ones just popped up.
Fingers crossed my rubber order arrives in the next couple of days so I can have the car back together for coffee and cars this weekend.
I don’t know how you guys spend years building your cars. Iv had mine apart for a month and it driving me crazy. It’s all I can think about. One day she will get a full resto.
Cheers

Yep new mirrors are on the list and will be putting one on the passengers side too. Just having the drivers side is a pain.

Been too busy to do much over the last few months with finishing Reno’s and selling that house to renoing the new place before moving in and all that fun stuff.
Only getting a couple of things done on the LH.
Finally got the new gearbox in. So much better to drive. I think the linkages need a bit adjusting as sometimes going from reverse to first it will hold both gears.
Also fitted up a couple of rare spares mirrors too.
Trying to get a shed sorted at the new please so I can get it out f storage and have it at home.
Not too sure which way I want to go with it from here. Has a rusty plenum and a bit between the drivers door hinges. But doing that it could snow ball quite fast with other things like new roof lining and so on.
Engine bay and engine needs some paint also but again you do that may as well do the kframe ect. It’s a hard life .
Anyway here a a few recent pics.

Hey guys. Been a while and only i bit going on. Got the shed at the new place built over a few weekends. The LH is home and has been for a while.
Picked up some pretty good nick front seats a few months ago. Finally pulled it all apart.
The previous owner was so kind to weld some 50x50 box steel to thw floor to mount the horrible racing seats too. So have spent a few days over the Christmas brake cutting them out.
Was just going to fit the new seats but have now ordered sound deadener for the floor.
As mine was originally a bench seat its onky got thw seat mounting points on the outside on the car. Need to find or make up mounting floor plates to put in near the trans tunnel. The floors had a bit of surface rust so gave them a tidy up too.
Iv also pulled out all the stereo. So glad i have as it was a fire waiting to happen.
For now iv got some vinyl paint to spray the hood lining, B and C pillar trims.
Iv picked up some trims (SLR smile) for under the grill. Just waiting on the fitting rivets to arrive.
Does anyone know how many of these rivets and where they need to be to fit these?
Where to from here? Who knows.
The engine bay might get some attention.
Here are a couple of pics.
Enjoy.
Cheers.
Kyle

Ask someone who is cutting up a shell to cut out the floor brackets for the inner rear mounts. Plug weld them to the underside of the floor.
For the front have a nut welded to a plate, drill a hole in the floor larger than the nut. Weld plate to floor with nut on the underside.

Hello. Cheers for that. Yeah I'm on the hunt for someone wrecking a shell. H series holdens are pretty much the same. Not much of any around unfortunately .Here's what I did many moons ago.

If you cant find any inner rear mounts you could make some up. They are similar to the outer rears but without the provision for the handbreak cable guide.

Thanks mate. Yeah it filled up pretty quick but haha.Nice shed, plenty of room to work on the torana in there.

Yep thats the final resort. I was hoping to find original plates so if it ever has to be inspected there are no issues.

Great looking car, i know what you mean about the seats being expensive/hard to get! kicking myslef for selling the good buckets from mine to replace with some race seats.
What are you going to do with the new seats colour wise?

I was lucky enough to pick these up locally.
When the time comes I'm going to get new covers for them plus the rears and then do door cards, good lining ect. Going to go LH SLR. I do like thr LX SLR better but go o ng to stick LH.
I'll just be putting some black seat covers on them for now.

PM me on Wednesday if you haven't found anything Bags. I have a mate up the road with a couple of H series wrecks. We could meet at Frankland River if it all works out.

Looking great Kyle.
The seat mount is basically a piece of tin with raised edges (to prevent them from pulling through the floor in a severe impact ) with a welded /fused nut , which is spot welded to the floorpan.
It really isn't hard to make one.
If you aren't confident , take a pic of the existing mount & ask a sheet metal place to bend you one up from 1.6 zinc.
