I saw sometime ago that someone had made full length, sheet metal 'chassis rail stiffeners' that are welded on both sides of the rail
Anyone know if these are being made for sale?
A drawing of them ?
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Peter

OK. That's the bolt in kit. I am looking for the weld on option.
Thanks

I think another member Heath made made up some nice weld in options , might be worth checking out his build thread ?

There used to be a guy on ebay selling weld in pieces
I bought some... then sold them off
Wish I kept the template

Otherwise I'll do my own template and have them cut out.

I did a few for mates on the cnc water jet.
Its time consuming to get them accurate and allow for a nice finish.

Hey Cameron
Are you making any more of these up?

Have a few big long term jobs on the machine at the moment but if we get a gap anything is possible.

G'day Cameron, any chance I could borrow the .dxf file for these?
Or do you have a 3D CAD model of the chassis rails?

My solution was a little different to what the OP is after.I think another member Heath made made up some nice weld in options , might be worth checking out his build thread ?

Sorry Andrew that LX 3d data took us over 1400 man hours (and cost us more than than a new commodore) to acquire so we can't give it out.

Thanks Cameron,
Those were the ones I was thinking of/looking for! Please keep me in the loop if you get some free time to knock out some more of these?
Cheers

Surely that's a saleable product now that you've invested the labour in getting the drawing right, no?
I can get not wanting to give away your efforts for free (no argument there!), but it would be a shame for the fruit of those efforts not to be commercialised for to those in need.
+1 :-)

True however commercialisation was not the reason for putting the torana into CAD. It was done for personal use for my own car.
I will gather the level of interest and look at a cost analysis. As with anything its the one offs that can blow the budget. Those few sets we cut for mates where 4mm but that was because of the high torque levels in those cars and the low chassis distortion numbers needed (without running a cage).
