No payment, just a good ol' typo. The correct figure is 191 kW.

I reckon I will finally go to Speed Week next year, which is on at the same time, so I will be back at Phillip Island the year after for the big L34 bash.

I hired a Commodore, expecting it to be a VF, but I ended up with the Daewoo version. Actually I have driven Daewoo's that were better than this thing. No feel in the steering or the brakes. Handled like any other cheap front driver. It was gutless. And wouldn't do a rolly back without stalling. It's no wonder people aren't buying them.
I have hired a Commodore for Bathurst this year Laurie. Is this really what I am going to get !!!!

I hope you got the sporty one. Otherwise, go to Europcar and get an Audi.

Yeah Steve. it has been on the bucket list for some years now as I have a couple of mates who compete. Not to mention that it's a great 4WD trip through the northern Nullabor.

Been the last few years as Lake Gairdner is only 300 klms away.
Spoke to the DLRA president and he told me that next year is their 30th event starting 17/3 and will be held over 8 days. Will have FIM and FIA officials to allow world record attempts over the last few days. They expect a good number of entries from the USA. Thats their plan and I can't wait.
Old Johnno (forum member) was there again on his Bultaco.

Results this year show only 1 run with no time recorded.
Also shows he holds the class record at 127.6 mph ( 205 kph )

Thanks Steve. I never actually met Sharon,(and I couldn't remember her name) but I did hear that she put in the hard yards to make it happen.

Laurie...if your interested in looking at a bit of footage on this years Lake Gairdner event to get an idea on what the place looks like...have a look at Carnage episode 24 on youtube.
The area of the lake you see is a tiny fraction of the overall size of the lake. Like most films you see....it looks better in real life.
I spoke to the man featured ( Scotty Taylor ) before his 150mph run.
They do have 2 tracks with the longest over 9 miles for the faster cars and bikes. First timed speed is at 3 miles.
Footage does show 1 of 2 Kenworth truck ( both yellow in colour and the same team ) bought across from WA to have a crack.
There is a lot more action than the film shows.
