Gday everyone,
Quick question, I've just purchased a New Harmonic Balancer and timing cover seal, do I need to lubricate this or apply anything (either side) when installing,
Cheers and thanks

I always apply a smear of gasket goo around the outer surface of the new oil seal metal shell before installing into the timing cover and lightly lubricate the rubber seal and the seal surface on the balancer with engine oil prior to assembly.

And give the seal running surface on the balancer a good clean before fitting, they are quite often coated in gunk that stops them going rusty while sitting in a warehouse.
P.S. Very pretty but it's gonna run like a busted arse with that single carby setup!
