Keep Left is a law in NSW Clay for multi laned roads above 80km/h. It frustrates the hell out of me when people doing 5-10km/h sit in the RH lane and won't pull over, even when there is nothing in the LH lane. On many occasions you have to overtake them on the left.

I used to be a fierce advocate of this rule myself. Under the conditions I commute in I was constantly being blocked from overtaking by cars hovering in my blind spot and varying their speed. I now have a considerably smoother and less stressful drive to and from work. There seem to be a lot of predatory drivers in Adelaide that play games in peak traffic. If the traffic is light there is not an issue and I drive in the left lane.

While you old coots are worrying about who’s in the right lane this old coot reckons you are overthinking it.
This will solve all your overtaking problems.

Out front, fresh air in your hair (what’s left of it) and a clear unobstructed view of the road ahead.
Just how I like it!

Clay.
People sitting in the right hand lane when they should have moved into the left lane helps create traffic congestion.
It interferes with the free flow of traffic, and creates basically mobile blockages.
They did a study on freeway traffic years ago on the then F3.
The freeway linking Sydney and Newcastle.
Ive travelled the road a lot, and in reasonably heavy traffic, there are often times when you come to a near stop.
You travel a little further and you get back up to speed again, having seen no reason for the slow down.
But all it takes is a single driver slowing traffic up to create the situation.
Those behind have to brake because the driver is in the way.
And more and more start braking etc, until about 10 minutes after the initial little problem, there is a 5km plus blockage on the freeway.
It then takes more than an hour for the traffic to get back to normal again.
I will drive to a speed I wish to.
Why? Because I like to.
Sometimes I am under the limit, others slightly higher than the limit.
I always return to the left lane if there is about 30 metres or more between vehicles, especially if there is another vehicle behind me.
Not wanting to be delayed in overtaking another vehicle when you come up on it isnt a valid reason for hogging the right lane in NSW.
You are asking people to do something to suit you by what you do.
No different to them wanting you to follow the rules and get out of the right hand lane and stop interfering with the flow of traffic.
There are always a couple of ways of looking at what people do.
Cheers
Rob

Not really a lot of VL left in that one.
About as Holden as a supertaxi.

Both of those VL's remind me of Serena Williams. I'm impressed, can appreciate the effort and work and also the achievement(s). Impressive power. But I don't want to own one, drive or be in one and don't like the sounds they make.

Funny thing is, try to buy a VL now and see what you have to pay. My son had about 8 before he was 21 and just used to buy them for bugger all for parts he needed from time to time (or for mates), part the rest out and sell. Not now. Cheers Ron
