Does any SA forum member own a white 1973 LJ Bathurst XU1, SA reg no RRH-372. I know a previous owner from 1981 & could put you in touch with him if you are interested.
You can PM me if you wish.
Cheers Pete.
Does anyone in SA know of this car. It is currently registered in SA on historic rego, so it is still getting around. In 1981 it was an immaculate & original car. The guy I know bought it for $7000 in 1981 & sold it for $10000 in around 1984. Big dollars back then. You could buy a brand new car for around the same price.
Cheers Pete.

Updated request, has anyone come across this car in their travels. Is currently reigistered in SA on Historic Reg. A previous owner would love to know what its been doing since he owned it from 1981 to about 1984. Was an immaculate car & the owner was fastidious, & still is. Have attached a pic from that era, approx 1982.

Unfortunately the previous owner doesn't have any of the numbers. Didn't seem important to record them back then, & he doesn't have any of the old rego papers for an engine number. All we know is that it is still currently registered on SA Historic Reg with the same rego number, which means the owner is a member of a car club. Are any of the ones you know in SA.
Thanks for your interest.

For your records I think I know the Pinaroo car, a good mate owned it. It's actually yellow (mustard I think). FWIW, he sold to the east for a little under 120k a while ago. It had the original engine, tags had never been removed, books etc.
Hope that narrows down the search a little.
Cheers

I believe this car could be south of Adelaide in the Morphett Vale area. Anyone know of a white XU1 in the Morphett Vale area, could be the one.

I've lived 5 mins away from Morphett Vale my whole life, I've never seen a white XU-1, doesn't mean there isn't one there though. I know of a fair few in the area, but not what you're describing.

Thanks Indy, this one has black trim & is still registered in SA today with the same reg no. Is on Historic reg, which means the owner is a member of a car club.

If the car is on Historic Rego then the owner must be in a car club. Try ringing the local car clubs.
If I was the owner I wouldn't be too pleased about someone throwing pics of my car around on the internet, but that's just me.

Am still looking for any info on this car. Sadly the previous owner from 1981 & good friend of mine passed away recently without finding his old car. I will carry on the search as I remember this car well & could provide some history to the current owner. Does anyone know of a white 150 list car that resides in SA. Any info will be much appreciated. PM me if you wish.
Pete.

Hi Anthony,
Is it possible that the white car you are aware of in Adelaide is the car that I am looking for. Surely there can't be that many white 150 list cars in Adelaide. Any info you can share would be most helpful. PM me if you wish. Thanks.
Pete.

Well, I still can't believe it, but I finally found this car, one of the last handful made in Adelaide before XU1 production ceased, with a JP4***** engine number.
The current owner purchased it in 1984 from the same caryard that my mate sold it to in 1984, & has only done 9,000kms since then in 32 years.
It's still the same way I remember it, like new, except it now has the sprintmasters & the correct muffler. What a car!!
Unfortunately, my mate never got to see it again.

Cool that you found it and got to see it for him.
You must have felt like a kid in a candy shop.
Cheers
