i have brought a set of used 80 over 202 dished forged pistons in very good condition acl brand.is there a way to tell the difference between a forged and a cast piston.the owner said they are forged.thankyou.

Turn the piston upside down if the underside of the crown is rough, ie casting marks, they'll be cast or hyper, if they're all smooth, they should be forgies, look for casting marks around the gudgien pin area too.

I'm pretty sure that you're correct. I can't recall them, of the top of my head, race series at a guess. 80 thou in size, scares the crap out of me. I thought it's been proven that std size bore stays cooler & produces more hp, nowadays though. I would think that some new Hypereurtictic Pistons Would be okay with low boost, a decent boost controller, good timing & fuel distribution & no detination.
