Pros and cons for dot 5 besides the fact it doesn’t melt paint? Can I run dot 5 or will it kill my seals in the master cylinders?

Dot 3 is fine
Never use DOT5 in anything

The question is why?
SIlicone fluid aerates which will leave you with bubbles in the line and no pedal
Its also compressible... not good for brakes
Its also not hygroscopic... so while it doesn't absorb moisture... the moisture that gets in stays as water droplets that happily boil off at temp and you lose pedal
