Generally, no. You can have issues with runout or bent axles causing vibrations though if that's what you're chasing.

Thanks some of the axles have several holes in them of different sizes so I thought they might be balance holes ??

For accessing the retaining bolts and other bits behind the flange

That was a problem with earlier Commodores, they were on-car balanced at the factory, but later when the tyres were changed, the tyre shop balanced the wheels off the car, so if there was any imbalance in the axle/hub/rotor assy it was no longer compensated for and all of a sudden you had a vibration.
You could do it by having a wheel perfectly balanced off the car, then bolting it on the axle and doing an on-car balance to see if anything changes. You would obviously need to take weight off the hub/axle flange on the opposite side to where the balancer is saying to add weight to the wheel, which could be a prick of a job depending on how far out of balance it is?
The better way would be to find a good machine shop, especially one that does custom driveshafts, they should be able to run your axles up in their machine and balance them for you, provided they don't have to much run-out of course (if they did you may well chew out the wheel bearings prematurely anyway).
